Sunrise in the Sierras

I did this acrylic painting last year, methinks. My first try at using a canvas this size, as well as it was the first time I brushed on a layer of white paint first. Not over the whole canvas, but a huge circle from which  came out the sun.

The scene is what I remember of sunrises in the Sierra Nevada where I backpacked so long ago.

Gillena, at Lunch Break, is hosting Art for Fun Friday. That’s where I’m heading. Please come join me.

    1. Thanks, Liz. Realistically, if the sun was that huge,, that landscape would be. burned., hahahah. Next time I need to show where the sun ends and its glow begins.

  4. The lake looks so pretty with the sun rising behind the mountains. A very lovely painting of the Sierras, Susie!
