To the Beach We Went

Whoo-hooo! Yesterday the Husband and I ran away to the beach for our 23rd of the month date.

The sand was soooo soft. It felt almost as smooth as Molly the Cat's fur after she has licked her coat.

If I had brought a change of clothing, I would've dived into the water which was delightfully and surprisingly warmish. Next time, I'll know better. At least, I got my feet wet. Even the Husband took his shoes off.

The Husband asked if the seaweed on the beach was edible, after he licked an end of a plant. He also said he tasted the ocean. I love the Husband.

My knees had no problem walking on sand. I suppose it's all that give. The knees don't feel the worse today.

We plopped down on the sand and sat for a long while, taking in the waves, the horizon, the fog, the humidity, the humanity, the few birds, and the quite-a-few dogs.

As the tide went out, we thought we saw a whale in the near distance. But the black shape took a long time moving from that one spot. Ah-ha! Rocks fooled us again.

This morning the Husband went to his quarterly doctor's visit. His blood pressure was something like 125 over 78. The lowest ever. Relaxing on the beach yesterday may have helped. Never know. I do know that I want to run away to the beach again. Sooner than later. Whoo-hooo!

Today I'm hooking up with Our World Tuesday. Check it out here. Thanks, Our World Tuesday hosts!

    1. Not humidity like in the midwest or east coast but humidity nevertheless. Enough for us to say "It's humid today." A new thing for us. :-)

  3. Was it crowded. Seems like it's crowded when it gets hot. But the sound of the waves can be so relaxing. Looks like a fun trip.

    1. Being a Monday, it wasn't crowded. We were also near the south end, far from the access points so fewer people wanted to lug their stuff. Yay for us!

    1. Thank you. It's Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove. People with dogs seem to like it a lot.

  6. What a Wonderful time you both had at the beach. It reminds me when my dad, myself and my brother went to church and after church, my dad stopped at Lake Erie and we would dip our toes in the lake and enjoy some fun time there. Love it

    1. I'm with you, Yogi. I didn't think it would be possible to see the Husband look even more relaxed than he did sitting on the beach.

  8. Running away to a quiet-ish beach sounds like a great idea, and if it helped the husband's blood pressure then it's something you should do more often :-)

    1. Now that we can go during the week when most people are at work, we have no excuse to stay away.

  9. That squishy soft sand is good for the feet and the soul I think. Those of us lucky enough to get near any beach for relaxation are very lucky indeed.

    1. This beach is about 45 minutes away from home. A stone's throw, as long as we work around commute hours.

  10. The beach is wonderful for lowering one's blood pressure and all stress levels.

  11. Ah to be at the beach. We have to travel very far to get to a beach so it is few and far between to feel the sand on the feet. Thanks for visiting Pictorial Tuesday. Would love to have you share your photography there each Tuesday's link up. Have a great week. Enjoyed visiting your blogs today.

  13. Every time we go to the Coast (here in Oregon) i want to move there. But no one yet has offered me an affordable home right on the beach. I don't know why! (But i do think, like you,, that we're lucky to be able to go there relatively easily. We could live in the middle of the country. Or in Eastern Oregon even.

    1. I'm daydreaming again about living in Pacific Grove. Better yet, Hawaii. It's not a far fetch to get to Asilomar. The only complaint is staying sane as reckless drivers do their thing on old highways and two-lane roads.

  14. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day with hubbie Su-sieee. I love going to beach at any time of year. I like the idea of having a once a month date to set aside to do something special with your nearest and dearest. It is too easy to get caught up in other things. Have a lovely week Su-sieee and thank you for stopping by my blog this week.
