13 Things That Could Become Garden Art

Last year I discovered that I enjoy repurposing stuff into colorful planters and whatevers to hang out in the garden.  The last couple of days I've been getting ready for when I can set up my work table on the patio. I've already got a whole bunch of things set aside that have potential into becoming garden art.
a bunch of plain tiles

a plastic storage bin (from a freezer?)

a metal Christmas tree stand

cut pieces of garden hose

rocks

soup bowls

part of a bougainvillea stump the Husband pulled out from the front yard

a floor lamp with several arms

a vanity dresser

2-gallon black plastic pots

wine glasses

wire food wrap organizer

old decayed boards

A lot of fun coming up ahead.   :-)

I'm hanging out at several memes. Hope you have a chance to check them out. Thanks to all the wonderful hosts!

  1. Ooooo...Yes to all, esp the stump! Our garden is currently under almost two feet of snow. There would be more, but the gusting arctic winds keep blowing it further down the hillside...

    1. The Husband came up with 2 gnarly stumps, this one is photogenic. Because the sun has been shining brightly lately, I think I can go outside and start working the garden. Nope. I need to be patient, a couple more weeks until the last frost.

  5. My favorite would be the vanity dresser. In fact, you remind me that we have a small vintage chest just sitting in the garage. We should decorate the backyard with it!

    1. Cool! The vanity still has its mirror. I might put them out, too. Beats being lonely in the garage.

  6. I wish I were that productive. We haven't had a garden for a couple of years because we're both too tired to deal with it.

    1. Because this is all new for me, I'm gungho. My plan is to create garden plots that can take care of themselves. Well, a bit of maintenance by me and watering by the Husband.

    1. I've put succulents in a few already, but that doesn't really make them art. Simply fun containers. So maybe I'll paint a few.

    1. I appreciate the encouragement, Angie. Last month, for the first time, we drank peppermint tea from the fancy vintage teacups that were simply hanging around as decorations. It was fun. Now I want more fancy teacups.

  16. Yes, all of those things and I can't wait to see what you do with them. I'm digging the colorful garbage can. A workbench must make a huge difference. For some reason I pictured you sprawled out on the ground next to Molly, paintbrush in hand. I mean you have the paintbrush but wouldn't it be cool if Molly did too?
