Treasure

The shelled purse in the photo was the Mama's. Never was used. She had wrapped it carefully in plastic and kept it on her closet shelf. This was another item that didn't get sold in a garage sale two years ago. Ha! There was a reason for that, which showed itself today.

The purse makes a cool planter for the Christmas cactus, don't you think?

  1. Sad that she had that purse but never used it. At least it has a use now.

    1. I'm guessing she was waiting for the right special occasion. I think, if she thought it was an option, she would've displayed the purse.

    1. Now that I'm into creative repurposing, I'm looking at the Mama's things differently now.

  5. I remember rummaging through forbidden closets and finding items like your mom's purse carefully wrapped in tissue paper, hidden treasures. And yes, it makes a unique and groovy planter.

    1. I've kept some of the Mama's 1950s/1960s dresses. Can't fit in them, but I like them too much to part with yet. Maybe if I was brave I'd cut them apart and make something else. But I'm more ambitious in thought than execution.
