Jane Austen, Smokejumper?

"Helping fight wildfires is part of my duties as a park ranger," said Jane Austen, Action Doll. "Being trained as an aerobatic pilot, I thought I'd be able to handle being a smoke jumper. Hence, when an opportunity became available, I signed up."

"Fighting fires in the remote areas is very frightening. That's a good thing, I believe. At least for myself. It keeps me from doing disingenuous bravado things that could lead to injury or death of my teammates or myself."

My theme for this year's challenge is Jane Austen, Action Doll, Seeks a New Career.

  1. Only Jane Austen can stop forest fires, which might explain why they can't stop the ones in California. She died :(

    1. You've got me thinking that I ought to check out if our forest fires in CA are worse because of the expanding developments near forest lands?

  2. She is one lean mean fighting machine. The firefighters must just love her

  4. Jane has her head together ! I do wish she'd stayed a little longer with the chef occupation as I was looking forward to finding walnut catsup by Jane on the shelves at Whole Foods (she has a few months to get that underway as there is no Whole Foods for us until we leave Florida.)

    1. You've got me curious, Sallie, if there's a place that sells the stuff. Hold on...Nothing! At least on the first 3 pages of the search. Maybe Jane ought to market her catsup.
