A Lazy Sunday

"It's 9:01!"

"It is!" exclaimed the Husband, throwing the bed covers off him.

As if it mattered that we got up late. We didn't have to get anywhere or have anything done by 9:00 a.m. today.  Although getting up later meant no early bike ride with Tilda-Hilda. Maybe we'll go for a spin around the neighborhood after I rake leaves in the backyard and prune some vines and such in the front yard.

I wondered why our alarm clock didn't wake us up. I opened the blinds in the living room. Molly the Cat looked up from the couch. Ha!

The Mama? I peeked into her bedroom. She was sleeping soundly.

Yes, a perfect Sunday morning.

Now a perfect Sunday afternoon. I still haven't gone outside. Those colored pencils distracted me.

  1. Relax and enjoy it!

    Warm ALOHA,

  2. I love a lazy Sunday, and I love your bright drawing.

Today I went to the Christmas open day at the animal sanctuary I support; unfortunately it was blighted by appalling wind and rain so not as many visitors as there would otherwise be but it was still a good afternoon. If I hadn't gone there then I too would have had a lazy Sunday.

    1. Thank you, Tigermouse. Good for you for heading out to the animal sanctuary. That's dedication. :-)

  3. Your drawing shows a content lady! Herzlich Pippa

  4. How lovely to have a lie-in!

    1. I did manage to go out and prune the vines and flowers. I may have gone a bit overboard. We shall see tomorrow when the Mama finally sees what I did. Kinda nervous about that.

  5. What a great way to spend a Sunday and I am all for those days:) We all need those days. I LOVE your Sunday drawing-great colours and style

    1. Thank you! It's the 1960s daisy swirly look, Birgit. At least in my memory.
