This morning, Tilda-Hilda and I pedaled about 10 miles in 58 minutes. I'm two pounds lighter, too. Tilda-Hilda must be happy about that.
Our photo opp today was at St. Benedict Catholic Church. The song going through my head on the ride was the first verse and chorus of Lady Marmalade. Enjoy Patti Labelle's version from 1975.
Loving your adventures with Tilda-Hilda, and what a lovely colour she is.ReplyDelete
I thought an appropriate song for you would be Pushbike Song by The Mixtures from 1970 - before I started driving five years ago I went almost everywhere on my bike and that's always been one of my favourite songs.
Thanks, Eunice, for telling me about the song. I'd never heard it. Would've been perfect back then for me, too, as I started riding my bike again. :-)Delete
Doesn't get any better than Patti LaBelle - I stopped singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" for over a year because i heard her impeccable rendition on a live program . . . (yes, i used to sing for a living) - eventually i got over the sense of AWE and simply sang my way . . to add to the chorus of Rainbow Singers. I sure enjoy pretending i ride around with you!ReplyDelete
Cool, G., pretending to ride along with me. I like that. How neat that you sang for a living. Did you used to sing in San Francisco? I don't think I've heard Patti LaBelle's version. No doubt I can find it on Youtube. My favorite version of the song is by IZ, the Hawaiian guy.Delete
Great blue sky in your lovely photo and so glad you are having fun biking! Fun! Fun! Fun!ReplyDelete
Happy Weekend to you,

The sky and the tower remind me of the photos I used to see through a viewmaster when I was a kid. The odd things that click in our brains.Delete
I miss the days when MTV really was about music videos ... Tilda-Hilda is really getting a workout these days!ReplyDelete
Thank goodness for Youtube. Yup. It's a good thing she got a new tire.Delete
Love your picture of Tilda-Hilda with the church. This must be Soul Train?? The voice is great but those outfits-hahahaaaa. The space one just makes no sense and neither does the jungle one either but it was the 70'sReplyDelete
The 70s where everyone did their thing. lolDelete
