Update of Our Hairy Vow

Today is ABC Wednesday
featuring the letter V.

When the husband and I cut all the hair off our heads (as well as the husband's beard and mustache) in January, we vowed not to cut or trim it for a year. The story about that is here, if you're interested.

Here are our vivacious selves at the beginning of the year.

Over 11 months later, our vow is still intact, with one allowance for the husband to trim his mustache so he can have full clearance to his mouth for eating and drinking. Here we are a couple of weeks ago. Believe me, there is lots of hair underneath those caps.

And, here's your Christmas song for the day: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" sung by the venerable Ray Charles. After listening to it, head over to ABC Wednesday to check out the vignettes of other "V" bloggers.

  2. What an interesting idea. Everyone tells me I look younger when I shave my gray beard. Maybe...

  6. Thanks for the comments on my blog - and I have had a thoroughly fun time reading yours too. I like the hairy vow! And the songs on U-tube too. My mom used to have a Shirley Temple doll and I was fascinated to read more about her. Cute little kid.

  7. Well done! I've often wondered about shaving my head but I don't think I'm brave enough or that the look would suit me. Basically, I'm just a vain coward ;-)

  8. Mrs. Nesbitt, thank you. I noticed today that the husband's hair looks less gray now that it's longer. :-)

Roger, it always grows back. this is only the 2nd time that the husband has been beardless since we've been together.

Linda, we're not sure yet. It's either all or nothing with us these days.

    Martha, thanks! :-)

    Alice, I agree. :-)

Ed, thanks for the compliment. We do our best. :-) The mama would really love the husband to get a beard trim. we just tell her it's not time yet.

Caroline, I didn't appreciate Shirley Temple as as a performer until I was a grown up. She was just amazing!

Serline, thanks, but I can think of more courageous things for which to commit. :-)

jabblong, LOL! Just think of all the lovely hats you can wear, if you don't like the look. :-)
