Pop Go the Roses!

All of a sudden, Mama's roses are in bloom.

Pop! Pop! Pop!

I heeded the experts and hacked away at most of the rose bushes when it was pruning time. Mama liked to let them grow tall. So do I. It's just that the roses got to looking wimpy and straggly and all things not good.

Pop, pop, pop. Pop!

About two years ago, I transplanted this orange rose bush from the other side of the backyard. The butterfly bush had a way of hiding it away from the sun during the summer.  This year it looks so much happier than last year.

Pop. Pop! Pop.

It's time for Mosaic Monday. Click here to check out photo collages by other bloggers. Take care out there!

    1. It took me nearly 4 years to take a deep breath and snip, snip, snip, snip. I've even got bold enough to pull out struggling rose bushes. What next? lol

    1. I'm with you, Amalia. One positive thing about this pandemic is that Mother Earth got rest from all our noise, air, water, and whatever-else pollution.

  7. In every house Mom lived in she grew lots of roses. That ended here in the Bellingham condo since there was no garden available. Your mom's roses are lovely. - Margy

    1. Mama did the same thing. She was disappointed when she learned that the people who bought her first house took out all her roses. "If I had known," she said, "I would've taken them with me."

    1. Thank you, Suzy. I had to put the roses Mama kept in containers into the ground because they were fizzling on me. I don't do well with container plants unless they're indoors.

  11. ...plants that have attachment to a loved one are always special. Take good care of Mama's rose and while you are at it, take good care of yourself.

    1. These roses don't have much of a scent. I wonder if it's because that's what they are, or too old, or not given the right amount of something. Time to Google.

    1. Sallie, I bet her Spirit is pleased. In her final years, she often said, "Who will take care of the plants?"
