"Knock on wood, said Dr. Eye, who then knocked on the side of a medical supply cabinet.
I turned to my left. Nothing but eye examination machines. All metal. I looked back at the cabinet.
"About the closest to wood," Dr. Eye said, somehow knowing what I was thinking.
"Maybe this," I said, leaning over to tap a small box, probably made of balsa, on the cabinet.
"It probably does have the most wood in this room," Dr. Eye said, tapping the box.
Someone asked me if I felt confident about Dr. Eye taking out my lens and inserting an artificial one with my current prescription. Totally.
Four more days. :-)

ReplyDeleteI like being happy. :-)
DeleteGood luck. You'll be so much happier when it's all done.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz. :-)
DeleteSound scary but I am sure it will be success
ReplyDeleteThe doctor assures me that there's only a 2% risk of things going sour. Knock on wood. I'm with the majority on this one. :-)
DeleteYou will feel the accomplishment and the joy in 5 days:) The white parasol above your garden chair makes me smile - sign of a coming warm spring day! Whenever you are permitted, let us at All Seasons know (in detail !!) how it went, okay> Our thoughts will be with you when it happens. Have a joyful and courageous week!
ReplyDeleteThe white parasol is a food umbrella that I brushed mod podge on. If I can figure it out, I'd like to attach a solar light to it. :Three days more, counting today.
DeleteGood luck, Susie! Be strong!!
ReplyDeleteGrazie. Saro forte. :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Adam. :-)
Deletewhat a miracle that they can insert a new lens... really is. I hope it's perfect too. knock on wood
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is, LeeAnna. Today, I shall be sawing and pruning branches off the miracle tree in the back.
DeleteAre you excited, and scared, and excited, and scared, and excited, and . . .
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shiju!
ReplyDeleteNew glasses? Did you have cataract surgery this year? My Red Foxx supply of eyeglasses is getting depleted since I keep taking them to the optometrist to put in new lenses every year and now I have single lenses for nearsightedness, bifocals and computer glasses within reach of the couch (where I do my best work).
ReplyDeleteI'm having cataract surgery in 2 days. Gulp. I'm feeling nervous at the moment. I'll be sporting glasses with my left lens popped out. I suppose I could have clear glass inserted so nobody would be tempted to poke me in the eye. If all goes well, I'll have the procedure for my other eye in May. Knock on wood.
