Happily Playing

I've been barefooting in crazy fun, hence the absence this time. :-)

The Husband is continually rediscovering delights with his new lenses. For instance, whenever he comes back from throwing the garbage, he gleefully reports that he can see so many stars, bright ones, too. Wait until he sees the night sky in the Sierras. Oh my! I got brave and made an appointment with the ophthalmologist to get the process going for cataract surgery for me.  I want to see a lot of stars.

Molly the Cat seems to like the new changes we've been making both indoors and outside.  Look at her sitting on the throne, a makeshift bench in the backyard. She claimed that this evening.

In May we decided to throw a party as a means to get us off our lazy derrieres. So, the past two weeks we've been cleaning, clearing boxes from rooms, moving things around, and putting up stuff on the walls. We had a wonderful superfun party last Saturday. And, now we have a clean house.

As for me, I've been playing with watercolors again. Here are some of the thank-you cards I painted today. Fun!

Tomorrow starts a week of birthday day-trips with the Husband. Whooo-hooo! Excuse me as I'll be slow-going with my visits as well as replying to comments to this post. Have fun out there!

I'm hooking up with Jesh's All Seasons and Angie's Mosaic Monday. Ciao!

    1. It was a wonderful birthday week of day trips and one overnighter. We saw waterfalls, mountains, and sea, walked through forests and museums, visited the City as well as nature. Couldn't ask for anything more. Well, maybe, but I won't. :-)

  2. I love you're having a party for a reason to clean. I like having visitors cause that forces me to keep my house clean!

  6. Good for you, Susie! Enjoy summer to the fullest! Great watercolors! I don't know, I may be wrong, but I wonder if you have a niche in painting objects like chairs, etc. With your personality, I think you could even sell whatever you make. Hope some day you'll get "desperate" enough to try it and follow through:):) Many thanks for this cheerful post for All Seasons! Have you seen I started "90 Days of Summer"?
Would be jazzed if you link (the same way as All Seasons with one of these photos i this post) - link only open Tuesday and Wednesday:)

    1. I appreciate your encouragement, Jesh. Once upon a time I wanted to be a street artist vendor but had nothing to sell. Perhaps I may be yet. We have a lot of craft fairs in the area. Something to think about. Love the title of your new meme. I'll join in one of these weeks. :-)

    1. Thanks, LeeAnna. Guess it's my turn to get this middle-aged body sorted out so I can live into my 80s, maybe even 90s.

  11. Su-sieeemac - if I ever lost my eyesight, or even had it diminished, what a loss that would be. I rely on it so much for everything that I do. Thanks for sharing your lovely watercolors with all of us at Mosaic Monday, and enjoy your day-trips! I see posts in your future!

    1. I don't know what the precise adjective is -- upsetting, frustrating, amazing, surprising, or other, or maybe all -- to describe how I feel about the inability to read things easily on some days. I'm thankful that I can read the small print up close without the glasses.

  12. Nice watercolors! I have cataracts that don't need surgery yet. Sometimes I'd like to get it over with.

    1. Thanks, Linda! If your insurance will cover the surgery, I say go for it now. Both the Husband and I thought cataract surgery was needed when we could barely see, like we're looking through gauze. Nope, says the doctors. The sooner, the better. The doctor was ready to do my eyes last year but I wasn't. Now I am.

  13. Just catching up with you (again!) as since I got this new pc I no longer get notifications of new posts. I'm glad the husband is rediscovering various delights with his new lenses, eyesight is such a precious thing. Your party sounds fun, and I hope you had a great week of birthday day trips :)
