Pretty in Pink

The Mama loved to sew dresses for me in pink when I was in elementary school. I didn't care too much for the color, but because I wasn't interested in looking at fabric back then, she bought what she liked. Long story short, once I got to a point where I began choosing materials or ready-made clothes, I avoided pink.

Then somewhere in my late 40s, I thought the color pink is fresh. It's bold. It's got pizazz. It's joyful. It's happy. Again, long story short, I think I'll put some pink in the tunic I am going to sew soon.

  1. Those flowers sure are lovely . . . . I like thinking about you sewing - and making one of a kind wearable art . . Priceless.

    1. I was looking at rayon prints online last night. Methinks, though, that I'll just go through my cotton stash and pull something together.

  2. Beautiful flowers! I am like you-I was never into pink but I buy the colour now and like it although Blue is still my favourite. I disliked anything grey since our school uniforms were grey pants/skirts. I avoided that colour like the plague but now I love the colour

    1. I think of grey as being a soft, cozy color. When I was a younger thing, I had this idea of sewing a grey A-line shift with a Peter Pan collar and nice side pockets. Gotta have pockets.

    3. One of these days I'm going to get me one of those vests with 100s of pockets. Between that vest and a good-size purse, I bet I could travel anywhere.

  3. A great color, pink. It has great power. It used to
seperate the girls from the boys but no more.
