Wild Pink

The Husband and I came across these wild pink roses while walking on the main street of San Juan Bautista last Sunday. A perfect contrast to the sights that we saw during our hike with friends at the Pinnacles National Park. 1. These roses are between two buildings. I've often wondered if anyone waters them.

  3. Lovely flowers! I reckon our neighbor had a similar rose bush in their garden when I was 8-10 years old. I like it because the petals of that rose is more dainty than the rest of the roses in their garden.

    1. Dainty is the perfect word for these roses. Dainty, delicate, yet strong and fervent.

    1. They do have a delicious fragrance. The kind you'd want to bottle without any other additional stuff.

    1. Hi, Ann. I'd forgotten the question I asked. I went search for the post but couldn't find it. I wish a lot more people would've considered trees as being a precious resource and planted two for every one they took out since the beginning of taking over the world.

  8. There's an abandoned lot near where we live. Climbing roses and blackberries vie for space. Last year the blackberries won a closely contested race - by a handful of berries - this year the roses are taking the high ground - top of the pile of brambles - our money's on them to bring home the prize.

    1. Do the blackberries ever take on a rose taste? Or, the roses, take on the color of the blackberries? Yesterday, I noticed that the orange roses in the back have a yellow edge, which is news. I was trying to figure where the yellow may have come from.
