The Three Amigas

Photos for this week's Friday's Hunt, hosted by Teresa at Eden Hills, include:
• Starts with T
• Week's favorite
• Evening

My favorite photo is of the three different types of tomato plants that are now residing together in my first veggie garden in a long time.  Meet Jo, Led Zeppelin, and Valerie, from left to right.  Jo is already sporting a tiny tomato. Yaay! Led Zeppelin is quite a survivor, having almost dried up. And, Valerie is a volunteer and quite a fuzzy gal.

The three amigas are nightshade plants. Nightshade, evening. Close enough.

  1. Here I sit, procrastinating, when there are two tomato plants to get into the ground - thanks for the push!

    1. Led Zeppelin pushed me the other day when I went to water it and Led was drooping with mighty thirst.

    1. Hi, Eileen. This will be my first year in a very long time of raising veggies of some sort. Have I said that already?

    1. Thank you. I wanted to introduce the tomato plants to each other since they each came from a different place. What better way then to listen to them tell me what their names are. :-)

    1. Jo is a cherry tomato, Led Zeppelin is an Early Girl, and Valerie is a volunteer. She's fuzzy so she may be an heirloom. We shall see.

  6. I like tomatoes off the vine, Suzy. But I can't have them anymore. Colonoscopy doctor's orders, my better comfort. Well, if I remove the seeds then I can eat them okay.

    1. I've seen recipes that say scoop or squeeze out the seeds, which I've thought of as weird. The Mama used to tell me to save some of the seeds from tomatoes that have tasted yummy.

    1. Me, too. Homegrown or organic ones from the store are the only kinds I'll eat now. They're the only ones that taste like tomatoes.

  8. Yay for tomatoes! I love their names! I haven't even thought of my garden yet. Of course, we've had frosty weather this last week, so that's probably good. Thank you so much for sharing with Friday's Hunt. Have a great week!

    1. Interestingly, Led Zeppelin seems the most sturdy of the three. I think Jo started off too fast, which reminds me I better go out and give them some water.
