Golden Apricots

"Have we seen this movie before?" I asked the Husband. "This looks familiar."

"I don't think so. But it seems like I've seen this scene, too."

Two weeks later, more or less, another movie. Said the Husband, "We already saw this movie."

"We saw the documentary about his life. But it does seem like we saw something else."

"This movie."

It turns out the Husband and I had seen the first movie, Olive Kitteridge but not the second one, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Two thumbs up for both of them.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Missy Molly the pinky-nosed (wild) Cat sleeps anywhere she wants.  So, I shall tiptoe over to Mosaic Monday.

    1. We've two trees, the original and a second generation tree. The second generation's fruit isn't as flavorable as the original. I wonder if the difference in taste is because of their location.

  2. Yummy apricots ...eye candy as well as tasting delicious. I didn’t know Olive Kittridge was a movie. I loved the book and am on the library wait list for the sequel “Olive, Again”. It’s about a six month wait list but I am too cheap to buy the book. I’ll look for the movie, hope it’s on NetFlix or Amazon.

    1. Sallie, Netflix has the movie. Frances McDormand plays Olive. I thought she captured Olive perfectly. Bill Murray's in the movie, too. I forgot that his character is rich and conservative. I hope the sequel explores his and Olive's relationship further.
I don't buy new books as much as I once did. My plan is to hit the Friends of the Library and thrift shops' book sales in the safe future.

  3. Nothing wrong with watching a movie again if you enjoyed it. And if you'd forgotten you'd seen it, it's probably due for a rewatch. Although, if it was that forgettable... (I've done it too. Did I see this movie or did I just mean to? Turned out I'd seen it.)

    1. I like rewatching movies, the Husband, not so much. Although he will watch "School of Rock" when he comes across it on TV. I can get stuck on the Sandy Bullock/Hugh Grant movie anytime.

    1. Before the lockdown, I was able to borrow several recent movies from the library. That's probably how we saw Olive Kittridge in the first place. :-)

  6. ...apricots are grown here, but not as much as peaches. One year I bought some peaches to can, there were a couple that I had trouble getting the skins off, they turned out to be apricots! Have a sweet day.

  7. That is such a cute picture of her, but they probably all are.
Olive Kitteridge isn't an American Girl movie is it? Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I'm waiting for a Beautiful Day to get to HBO, I should check in case it did already. I'm currently watching Die Hard, Ford V Ferrari, The Order and just finished S2 of The Politician. Yes, I watch Too Much TV. Do you know what movie that's from? I was obsessed with it in the early to mid nineties. Tried to storyboard it for a class assignment, too difficult. I bet you rock at storyboarding (it's weird that term brings up thoughts of waterboarding).

    1. Olive Kitteridge is based on a novel, which is set in a New England coastal town. Is the American Girl series still around?
We saw Ford V Ferrari last week. That was a great story. The Politician sounds interesting. We're watching season 1 of Fleabag. It's taken that long for Netflix to offer the show on disk. Neither of us want to figure how to program the TV for streaming. If only we had a kid or grandkid to do it for us.

    1. Good to know we're not the only ones who see movies way after they''ve first come out.

  9. Su-sieeemac - I am waiting for my husband to come home before I have dinner, and so I am totally salivating over these apricots. I'm hungry!!! As for movies, thankfully my hubby has a great memory in that department. I am hopeless remembering what we have watched, who the actors are, etc. I just don't have room for all that in my brain! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
