Molly's Monday #14

Miao, miao. I know it's Tuesday.

I know Missus Lady came back to our blog on Sunday, miaoo, and with a new name for out blog. Purrrrrrrr.

I told her that I wouldn't write until I got to go outside, if just for a little while. Miao. Hero Man let me go out for a few moments this morning. Purrrrrrr.

Since Friday, my humans have kept all the windows and doors shut. They say it is for my good and their good. Miao. The air is awful, they tell me. We live about 240 miles or so south of Paradise where that horrific fire is going on. All those poor people and animals who perished in that fire and the two Southern California fires. Mowwwrrrrr.

Missus Lady took this photo yesterday from the car. The Diablo Range in the background is hardly visible.

Missus Lady took this photo of the same spot in January 2017.

That man who pretends to be our President doesn't know what he's talking about. Mowrrr! On Saturday, instead of expressing empathy and support, that oaf of a non-president growled: "There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!"  Ppfff.

Miao. The U.S. Forest Service and other federal agencies are in charge of a lot of the forests in California. As their boss, the non-president isn't doing a great job guiding the agencies. Miaoooo. It's just as well he doesn't do anything because his move would probably be to let the lumber companies make loads of money clear cutting the forests. Some companies happen to make good money when forest fires happen, according to this Forbes article.

The non-president shows himself ignorant to the fact that the horrific fires are not in wildernesses but in places where an increasing number of humans live next to the undeveloped areas. No matter what the non-president says, humans cannot control strong winds spreading fire rapidly through extra dry brush and trees caused by years of drought. Mowwwwwwwwr.

This man who pretends to be our President throws more fuel on the fire with his hostile ignorance and lies. That's what I think. If you want a human's point of view, check out this New York Times article. Miao.

Being it's Tuesday, I'm letting Missus Lady hook up my post with Our World Tuesday. Here's the link to check out participants from around the world. Thanks, Our World Tuesday hosts! Purrrrr.

  1. Trump needs to resign, today.

  2. You are a very wise cat and chances are anyone the baby oaf king appoints is doing the exact opposite of whatever office they represent stands for, so that's something you can count on.
240 miles is not far enough, and widespread fires are predicted to get worse in the future. I'm glad you and the old folks are okay but you better listen to them until they get you a cat sized breathing mask.

  3. It's awful, all the fires. Luckily, we're not too close to one (although Malibu isn't too far from us), so while I've been coughing, the air isn't too bad. Hopefully this is it for the year. Fingers crossed.

  4. yes... he's big on blaming the victim in any circumstance.... I suppose we've survived ignorant presidents in the past and there is only hope that we can survive this president. He forgets he should love and protect all of America,. I'm worried most that there are Americans who believe his propaganda.
Thinking caring people understand and care about California and PR and States with disasters and the hate crimes that should be squashed from the top.

  5. Your humans are right about going outside for any length of time. That's what it was like here this summer and I'm very sorry you're having to go through it now.

  6. Molly, I'm glad to know your humans take such good care of you.
