Sunday Morning Experiment

Can you find Molly the Cat?

This morning's experiment: Along with my camera, keep a pen and notebook ready at all times while I deadhead daisies in the front yard. I wanted to see if it's possible for me to re-establish an old habit of carrying a journal.

So, what did this old lady note this morning? Here were a few thoughts that got me to put down the scissors and write.

The driveway looks cleaner than the hood of the car.

The Mama would say I was stingy with the water. Proof—all the dried branches on the daisy.

Must remember to clean the hairball Molly barfed early this morning on The Husband's favorite spot on the couch.

The faint breeze from fog rolling back west, ahhhh.

Two hummingbirds. Ruby throated guy shows Anna's hummingbird guy the sea of red flowers very near me. Don't mind that human.

So, how did I like having pen and notebook on hand?

The greatest advantage, of course, is recording my thoughts rather than forgetting them.

The downside: It took me longer to deadhead the daisy bush.

My next experiment shall determine whether I want a blank or lined journal.

Sunday means All Seasons, a weekly meme hosted by Jesh of The Jesh Studio, which is where I'm heading to share my post. Click here to check out Jesh. For the participants list, click here. Thanks, Jesh!

  1. I love your hummingbird photo...amazing shot. I have tried to keep a journal in the past but I always forget. I think what you did every day would exhaust me:) I am certain your. Knees are ok

    1. Thanks, Birgit. I lucked out having the camera in my hand when Ruby-guy flew in for nectar. I can't tell whether the pain has lessened or my tolerance level has increased.

  2. I've never seen a hummingbird in person before.

    1. I hope you will see one soon, Adam. I got curious and checked what hummingbirds hang out in your state. If you ever see one with blue coloring that's a rare hummingbird.

  3. What you really need is a recorder. Rather than jotting down ideas, you can just speak them.

    1. I did that for awhile way back when. I flinched listening to my voice. lol

  4. You could get one of those that has a blank page on one side and a lined one on the other ... best of both worlds :)

    1. I've been so out of stores, I didn't know there's such a thing. Gladness abounds!
