June Rose

The Mama's red rose bush produces year round, as long as I deadhead the spent blooms. I couldn't resist picking this perfect specimen with the intent of drying it whole. I left it outside in this box. The next day, the petals had dried, but they had also fallen from the stem. Oh well. Potpourri, they shall be.

    1. Next time I'll do what the experts say and tie the stem with string and hang the rose upside down in a dry place.

    1. If you add a bit of aspirin to the water, they even last longer.

  5. And a fine potpourri they'll make. I like the filter effect. Why is that word so hard to spell.

    1. This morning I found that most of the rose petals were in the tomato plants. The wind must've tossed them about. That's what I get for not bringing them inside.

  7. You could place the rose petals near your mom’s photo or even make a scrapbook page with her and the rose
