Saying Hello to July

Surprise!

The amaryllis is in bloom. I had no idea the amaryllis could have a second bloom, six months apart. It isn't unusual, according to what I read today. My trick: Do nothing. I'm thinking that it may be getting the right amount of moisture from the foggy mornings.  Hurrah!

The drawer full of hens and chicks is new to the front yard. I finally pulled the succulents out from beneath some rose bushes and planted them in this drawer without a bottom. I placed the two plates there to cover the dirty spots on the drawer. Beats having to repaint the drawer.

The flowers fizzed out in the VHS-Tape Planter. Cie la vie!

The pot of frizzing spider plants on the other side of the yard called out "Dibs!" I hope they like their new home.

Many years ago in another town I recall a house lined with sunflowers on its south side. I thought it was so cool and wanted to do something like that one day. Looks like that day arrived.

I'm linking up with All Seasons, a weekly meme hosted by Jesh at Artworks from JeshStG. Click here to check out other participants. Thanks, Jesh!

    1. I cut a bloom and set it on the kitchen ledge. It's like a mini sun smiling at me when I'm at the sink.

    1. Thanks, Jesh. You're the second person to say the plates looked like wheels. Love it. I saw Carol's post the other day. That was unusual too! I wonder what made this year's weather or climate different from the last.

    1. Thanks, Widders. I got a whole of stuff in this house that I think ought to go into the garden. It would be funny if neighbors complain that our front yard looks too junky.

  8. Love the drawer planters ... and sunflowers always make me happy! The amaryllis is my kind of plant if "do nothing" works that well. Probably I'd have to move to your location though ...it must be perfect for it!

    1. I think of the amaryllis as being a cool plant which surprised me the first time I saw the bulb. I had moved the plant to where it because I was afraid the Husband would trip over it when he watered the plants back there. I'm wondering if the foggy mornings, cool evenings, and being in the wind path contributed to its bloom. Anyway, it might be worth giving it a try of "do nothing" in Eugene.
