Today, I'm going to describe my fantasy day of dining out. Six small meals. A graze pig out.
My full day of dining out would be in San Francisco. With the dear Husband, of course. We would be doing a lot of wandering around the city to get our appetites up for the next meal.
Breakfast: A chocolate croissant, from a real French patisserie, with a big cup of organic coffee.
Snack: Half a fresh organic papaya. The Husband gets the other half.
Lunch: Dim sum. Yummm. Stuffed eggplant. Taro cake. Sticky rice in lotus leaf. Chinese broccoli smothered in lots of garlic.
Snack: One old-fashioned doughnut hole. Okay, maybe two.
Dinner: Without doubt, a Korean dinner where we grill kalbi, tender short ribs, at the table. And, that isn't even the best part of the meal. That belongs to the banchan, the several small dishes of vegetables that are served on the side. Some spicy such as kimchi cabbage, kimchi radish, and spicy beans. Some kinda sweet or mild to balance the spicy, such as spinach, potato, and bean sprouts. Give me a bowl of rice and banchan, and I'm happy. Mmmmmm.
Snack: A scoop of lemon ice cream in a bowl.
There you go.

DeleteI like your meal. It makes me miss Orlando (just a little) Ha. Mt is all about meat and potatoes, meat and potatoes, OH and did I say meat and potatoes? This winter I was craving fresh papaya so much so I ordered 6 papaya from Hawaii. Crazy, huh?
ReplyDeleteNot at all! I may just order me some papayas, too. The papayas in the market are so yucky tasting.
DeleteYeah, I haven't even had a cup of coffee... your day sounded glorious yum..Welcome in the letter "D"... thank you!

There's no earthly way of knowing.
Which direction we are going!
HOLLYWOOD NUTS!
Come Visit: You know you want to know if me or Hollywood... is Nuts?
It's a day to yet happen. May my birthday when I can call all the shots of what to eat.
DeleteYou had me at chocolate croissant! Can't remember the last time I had one but darn if than doesn't sound so eloquent! And, papaya ... YES!
ReplyDeleteYes, chocolate croissant and coffee. Droooool.
DeleteThe chocolate croissant sound delicious..actually it all does. The donut holes I think we call them Timbits up in Canada land. I believe people pray to Tim Horton's up here. It is a donut and coffee shop that also now serve bagels and lunches (like soup, sandwiches etc...) There are more Timmy's in my city than anywhere else in Canada. People are lined up in the morning at the drive thru. It's nuts and Tim's is an institution in Canada
ReplyDeleteTimmies for evah!!!!!
DeleteOkay, when i come up to Canada, I'm going to look for a Tim Horton.
DeleteWhat a great way to spend the day...from one delicious meal to the next. The old fashion donut hole sounds a great snack, and the dinner....wonderful exotic foods. Of course that is coming from a TexMex pallet. Well done for 'Letter D'.

If I had an extra meal, I would've thrown in either paella or chile relleno.
DeleteThat's how I like to eat when we travel. I want to try everything so a couple of big meals doesn't make sense at all. I like your choices!
ReplyDeleteWe tried your recipe for pork adobo this evening ... YUMMMMMMMMMM ... we 're going to play with the recipe too. Add this, s'more of that, try different meats, etc
ReplyDeleteThanks from Mrs Widds and me and out happy tummys. :)
... that would be ... 'our' happy tummys!
DeleteCooool! Adobo chicken, especially chicken wings, is very yummy. So far, I haven't liked it with beef, maybe I haven't found the right combo of vinegar. If the Mama is not eating, I like to spice up the adobo with cayenne or siracha sauce.
DeleteWow your dream meal is making me hungry. I want some good garlic eggplant now :).
ReplyDeleteHope you get it soon. :-)
DeleteI'm a simple gal with simple tastes but remember a Korean meal cooked by the wife of a new friend. It was delicious!
