Havoc in Progress

Welcome to our havoc of a patio. The Husband calls it "lived in", the kind man. Most, if not all, of the placement of things on the patio was done by me. Thank you.

That's not abandoned clutter, mind you. Nearly everything in sight is a work-in-progress of something, whether individually or collectively. They're all in different stages. Some, I grant you, are still at the starting line. For instance that brass lamp with many arms which friend Missus H gave me. I fell in love with it when I saw it hanging out in her barn. Not sure yet whether to dismantle the wiring.

Towards the back end, by the miracle tree is a work-in-progress actually being worked on.  I pulled out the fence of twigs in the front yard by the sidewalk because it looked *gasp* messy. (That's right, these eyes of mine know messy from eclectic whimsy.) So, the Husband and I decided to make a sturdier fence. We've got two panels done. What do you think?

I think they're cool. The Husband created the panel on the left.  We've run out of bread ties, so we moved on to using string to lace the branches together. We have four more panels to go. Easy peasy.

The best fun about this work-in-progress project: The Husband and I are completing it together.

  2. As long as it doesn't bother you, it's good. It's that point when you're just done and everything goes in a dumpster that you know it's clutter and it's been there too long.

    1. I'm getting better at throwing out clutter that I've kept for years and years for sentimental reasons.

    1. That's a finished project. It's our strawberry planter. The original guys put out runners, of which some are growing in that pot next to the cooler.

  4. No judgment here. You are best (and only) person to discern between messy and eclectic whimsy on your turf!

  5. I like the idea of a dual artist twig fence. Are you trying to keep people in rather than out? I wonder what would happen if you used licorice laces to tie it all together, you'd need a critter cam to watch. I look at that and think, "Artist." Oops, The Emmys gotta go.

    1. I don't there's enough give to licorice to lash well, besides I don't want to get animals hooked on the stuff. The fence is to keep stray dogs, as well as dogs on leashes, out of our yard. I'm also it clues the owners of leashed dogs that our stretch of sidewalk is not for peeing.

  7. A work in progress always begins with a bit of chaos but ends with beautiful surprises. I can’t wait t9 see the finished product

    1. Me, too. The Husband is halfway done with the last panel. His lashing is so rugged and durable, I'd want him to tell people how to build a raft. Mine, tie, knot, wind again, knot, tie, knot. I can hardly wait to see them up.

  8. As the saying goes, ones mans trash is another ones treasure. Wishing you good luck on where all these items fit in that line between trash and treasure. Have a great week.
