In my mind, I'm five years old having a high old time wandering and wondering. In reality, I'm now 70, wowza! I tell you a lot of creativity is still to be found in this old young self. In you, too, whatever your age. Welcome to my barefoot world!

Never Too Late to Repurpose
That's a photo of my First Communion veil. It's quite pristine for about 55 years. The Mama had stored it in its original plastic case.
So, what is it doing outdoors?
I'm tearing it apart to line planter pots. Yup, that's what I'm doing.
Woowww, I think I'd be afraid to do that, being taken to the edge of terror by the nuns and all. But good for you, I'll sail three Hail Marys and and an Our Father.
I appreciate the Hail Marys and Our Father for me, Jeanna. The Mama must've felt the terror since she didn't get rid of the veil. But, then, I've also found my baby locks of hair amongst her hoard. The birds would probably like the hair for their nests.
I think I still have a lock of baby hair in an album somewhere and I know I have my First Communion Prayer book stashed away. Sorry about the spelling, but be the jitters from all the frickin' fireworks going off.
Uugh! From about 11:30 to 12:30 last night here. I really hate people sometimes but did retreat to the bathtub and some lemony bath oil to muffle the noise. (Noise, noise, noise.) I see even more typos apologizing for previous typos.
Wow. My first communion stuff is long gone. Great way to repurpose it.
ReplyDeleteI also found dresses that the Mama made for me when I was a little chub chub of a girl. I want to do something with them, too.
DeleteBetter than throwing it away
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. :-)
DeleteWow! ~ Beautiful communion veil!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
It certainly is. I thought about saving the braid but then I asked myself what am I going to do with it?
DeleteAn excellent idea. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Mama would've thought otherwise. lol

Delete1 a.m. this morning someone thought we all wanted to hear his fireworks.

DeleteGreat idea - I would have never thought of that. I think I'm too nostalgic for that. I use used dryer sheets in my pots.
ReplyDeleteI also use coffee filters. Dryer sheets is a good idea, too, but the fragrance bothers my skin.
