  2. Yes!! Gold medal! (I love this. And hope that when we get to Colorado soon I can summon the energy to walk up the stairs to the guest bedroom in our son and DIL's home. Yeah, stairs -- we're not used to -- and It's already a mile high there on the ground floor. Lotta' altitude for this flatlander.

    1. You've got it, Sallie! By the time you leave you'll be stronger by those stairs, by golly. :-)

  3. A great photo, but just seeing all that lot on your back makes me realise why I've never fancied backpacking! :)

    1. The First Husband and I climbed that mountain nearly every summer we had together. Scariest was coming down for me. I got very good scooting on my butt.

  5. Good for you, what a beautiful place to hike but I don't think I could make it anymore so more power to you! I'm trying to get the energy to fetch an ice cream bar.

    1. Jeanna, this photo was 30 years ago. I definitely couldn't climb it today, but I'd love to. The last time I scrambled up it was 22 years ago when I tossed the ashes of the First Husband at the top.

  7. Love this photo! We are heading to Tahoe this month, taking our pup along. We will be looking for dog-friendly trails. I'm sure he will have far more energy than I do. Slowing down with age, but as you say, I'm still going and haven't crossed the finish line yet!
