It's beginning to get jungly in the back yard. The persimmon trees are popping out leaves, as are the apricot and apple trees. You can't see the banana plants, but they're also shooting up leaves. When all the trees are full, this part of the yard gets quite shady. Perfect to hang out in when the temperatures soar high.
I ought to call this part of the yard the "jungle room" or maybe Room of Deep Shade. What do you think?
With those red and pink flowers it looks very pretty whatever you call it :)
ReplyDeleteThey're geraniums, all branches that the Mama planted several years ago. She wanted lots of flowers there, she said, because she loves flowers.

ReplyDeleteUntil this year, this area was difficult for the us to walk in. I pruned a lot of low branches several months ago, which made me wonder how well the trees would take it. So far, so good.
DeleteIt looks beautiful! I would love to plant more fruit trees in our back yard, but haven't gotten around to it. We have a tangerine tree and a lemon tree. My son makes his own lemonade with our lemons now.
ReplyDeleteSo far I've made 3 batches of limoncello from the lemons on our tree. My next experiment is to make preserved lemons. I'm so glad the Mama wanted fruit trees in her backyard.

ReplyDeleteShe doesn't hang out in this part of the yard too much. I shouldn't say that. Come the hot summer day that may change, especially when we put a seating area under a tree you can't see.
