The Wager

I knew the pet store was to the left, so I turned left.

"I think it's to the right," said the Husband, sitting in the passenger seat.

"No, it's this way," I said, firm in my belief.

"I think it's back that way," the Husband said, firm in his belief.

"No."

"Yes."

"I'll bet you it's this way," I said.

"I don't want to bet money," he said.

"Jumping jacks," I said. "When you lose, you do 10 jumping jacks."

"Okay," he said. Here, dear readers, you should note that the Husband does not bet unless he's 100 percent sure he's right.

"And, if I lose. . .," I said. "What do you want me to do?"

"Ten jumping jacks," he answered. Dear readers, you should also note that I do not do jumping jacks.

"Fine. If I lose, I do 10 jumping jacks. But, I'm not losing."

Half an hour later, the Husband stood next to the car, watching me do 10 jumping jacks. He counted them out with me.

After I finished the last one, I said, "I bet you didn't think I'd do them."

"No." The Husband paused. "I didn't think you could jump."

Ha! I should've bet him.

This really struck me funny. Don't know why, but it so much like all our nature. I love your drawing of you doing the jumping jacks. Hahaha

  3. I have taken to sharing your post with my husband. I wouldn't bet him on directions, it would be unfair and unkind of me knowing he is geographically challenged. However, I would bet on other things but I would want money. Great post.

    1. The Husband said he wanted to exercise more, so I thought I'd do him a favor.

    1. Yup. If I didn't do them right away, he would've forgot about the bet. Eventually.

  6. ::snort:: Oh that's too funny. I totally don't bet on directions. I've ended up in the wrong state a couple times. I'd totally be doing jumping jacks. lol

    Happy A to Z-ing!

    1. The Husband said to me, "There's one problem with the story. You said right, and I said left." Yup. I'm dyslexic when it comes to left and right.

  8. I thought I wrote here:) I thought this was quite funny and I never wager unless I truly do know because my hubby won't forget

    1. The Husband eventually forgets about a wager, even one where he wins. He's not like me who may forget but when I finally remember, ask for my winnings.
